You will need;

  • 1 Cup (130 grams) unsalted butter
  • 1 Cup (130 grams) granulated white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

First things first, preheat your oven to 350 f or 175 c.

Pop your butter and sugar into a bowl and cream together.

Mix in your egg and extracts.

Slowly add your dry ingredients to your mix. It may become to stiff to work with a spoon, which means its time to take it out an kneed by hand! Which is not only fun, but a great stress reliever.

Give yourself parts of the dough that you can roll out and cut into shape, these cookies work best at 1/4 inch ( 6mm).

Bake for 6-8 minutes or until it reaches a light golden colour!

Leave them to cool before letting loose with all of the decorations that your heart might desire! From icing sugar to sprinkles, experiment with it all. Why not enjoy a glass of Christmas Pudding Liqueur whilst you are baking?
